TIME MARCHES ON BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN WE ALL NEED A REMINDER OF WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE OR WHAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN LIKE IN DAYS GONE BY.   MONUMENT ARCHITECT ALFRED C. FINN  AND F.M. JOHNSON REI OF THE PWA STAND BY THE MODEL (LEFT) WHOSE DESIGN WAS INFLUENCED BY JESSE JONES.   IMAGINE HOW DIFFERENT IT WOULD  HAVE BEEN IF THE FRONTIER MAN DESIGN, HANDS RESTING ON HIS TRUSTY RIFLE, EVER READY TO DEFEND OUR NEW COUNTRY, FLANKED BY TWO EAGLES HAD TOPPED THE TALLEST MONUMENT IN THE NATION.

If you do not know the story about this battle it is worth the time to read up on it. Its a classic example of what can happen when you pick a fight with a Texan!
